Denji looks a lot less like a nightmare-powered action hero here and a lot more like a kid who has been through it. The dirty white shirt, seated chibi pose, and upward-looking expression give this Lookup figure a softer, more vulnerable read than the usual chainsaw-chaos version of the character.
That contrast is the whole point.
